I forgot to take a before video of how loud the ticking was, but it’s a huge improvement. I’ll take a video later today of how nicely it’s running now. The ones I replaced them with have a 3mm oil hole instead of 2mm, and now it doesn’t sound like an angry sewing machine with some hammering thrown in.
I wasn’t expecting the rocker assembly to be quite so springloaded, it would’ve been nice if the Haynes or the factory service manual recommended leaving bolts in the back end of it to hold it all together.
Who needs special holding tools when you have zip ties?
Next up, those manual locking hubs that I still haven’t installed....and I still really need a better carb.

I’m pretty pleased, I think this is the most I’ve actually gotten into the engine of one of my cars. Definitely gives me more confidence for more in depth jobs.
